Imagine how many victims could have been helped if the slogan "SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING" was referring to the prevention of child sexual abuse!
1 in 3 girls and 1 in 6 boys will be sexually exploited before their 18th birthday*. Unfortunately, recent allegations of child sexual abuse in the media have left many parents unsure of who they should trust their child with and adult volunteers questioning whether they want to step up and mentor other children, for fear they may be falsely accused of inappropriate behavior. Sadly, many past situations of child sexual abuse could have been minimized and even avoided if the organizations and institutions involved, as well as parents and children were educated and made aware of the child sexual abuse problem that is so pervasive in our society. Would you know what to do if a child in your organization was victimized? What if one of your adult volunteers was accused of molesting a child your organization had been entrusted to protect? Does your organization have specific guidelines in place to ensure protection for everyone? Let Putting Children First develop guidelines and provide training that will help ensure safety for EVERYONE in your organization. Click on the above tabs to learn more about the program.
